Mold Remediation

Healthy Home Mold Services Inc. uses an advanced mold cleaning system to return your home to normal. Our unique two part system removes mold and mold staining, and eliminates excess mold spores in your air. Since 1998 system has provided a completed mold removal system using unique, non-toxic and biodegradable products created specifically for the removal of mold spores. In addition, our engineers have developed groundbreaking methods and equipment to ensure the best possible restoration of treated areas. Our system reduces labor, saving you money.

Step 1: The first step in our system cleans visible mold and mold staining. It is used on hard surfaces such as wood, drywall, tile and concrete. Bleach doesn’t work on porous surfaces like drywall and wood. The bleach solution is mostly water, which penetrates the material, but the actual bleach sits on the surface. When you attempt to clean porous surafces with bleach, the mold comes back in about two weeks. Our mold removal step uses a sodium hypochlorite based product (swimming pool disinfectant), specially formulated to get to the hyphae, or root system, of the mold. That’s how we can frequently SAVE your drywall! Never allow anyone to tear out your drywall as a mold remediation solution without a second opinion. As long as the drywall is not water damaged, our system can remove mold and not remove the paint from your walls or ceilings. As there are some VOCs associated with this step of our system, the second step will neutralize the VOCs.

Step 2: The second step in our system is the most important. This product works as a non-mechanical air scrubber. It is statically charges to attract airborne particles including dust and mold. When this product is fogged throughout your structure, it remains suspended, slowly drifting to the floor bringing the particles with it. Your Certified Technician then HEPA vacuums and microcleans surfaces leaving you with fresh, clean air. This product is biodegradable, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Best of all, it will eliminate the mold spores throughout your structure.

Attic Mold Removal

Our system is effective and fast at removing attic mold. The first step in the process is to have an attic mold inspection by one of our Certified Mold Inspectors, determine if the substance is actually mold, and locate the source of the moisture that allowed the mold to grow. The source of moisture can be a roof leak, condensation forming on the inside of the roof decking, or simply poor ventilation that allows warm, humid air to stagnate in your attic. One the source of the moisture has been fixed, we can quickly and effectively remove the mold and the mold staining.

Frequently Asked Questions About Removing Mold

Are you going to use containment to isolate the treated area?

We are not going to use containment to treat your mold. Mold spores can spread to other parts of your home. Given the right conditions, the spores can form new colonies. Instead of setting up containment around the area of visible mold, we use your building itself as the containment, treating spores throughout your structure.

Why fog the entire house instead of only treating the affected areas?

When mold contamination of any kind happens within a building, mold spores can spread. They are carried on your clothing as well as being present in the air. If the entire building is not treated, then spores can remain elsewhere and begin to grow under the right conditions. Mold is allergenic whether dead or alive and the IICRC S520 guidelines state “Physically removing mold growth and spores is the guiding principle for mold remediation.”

Do you fog biocides as part of your process?

We do not fog biocides in your home. Our GM2000 product works as a non-mechanical air scrubber. It is biodegradable, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Biocides can leave a chemical residue in your home and even if a contractor claims they will ‘kill’ the mold, the mold must be eliminated from your home. Mold is allergenic and toxigenic whether dead or alive. IICRC states: “Using antimicrobials during mold remediation is discouraged. Antimicrobials are products applied into or onto a material to “suppress or retard” future mold growth. Treatments may interfere with post-remediation verification and are generally ineffective on porous and semi-porous materials.”

Do I need to have my drywall torn out?

Do I have to move out for a while? In many cases, it is not necessary to remove drywall from your home, which will eliminate expensive deconstruction and reconstruction. Do not allow anyone to rip out your drywall before a second opinion with one of our Certified Technicians. Unlike biocides or bleach alone, GM6000 is formulated to get to the hyphae, or root system, of mold. Importantly, unlike some other products, GM6000 will not remove the paint from your walls and ceilings. In most cases, you will you will be back in your home the same day.

Can’t I just treat mold with bleach?

Not really. Bleach will kill mold growing on non-porous surfaces like glass, tiles, and countertops. However, bleach cannot completely kill mold growing in porous materials like drywall and wood. Bleach does not penetrate into these porous substances and so only the mold growing above the surface is killed. Our specially formulated GM6000 is able to get to the hyphae, or root system, of the mold growing on porous materials like drywall and wood. If your drywall can be cleaned without expensive deconstruction and reconstruction, we can complete your projects for much less cost and in many cases you can be back in your home the same day. Our exclusive system reduces labor, saving you money!
